Range Loop

Buy at one price, sell at another.

Two hard dollar prices instead of percentages: buy at the lower band, sell at the upper band, and repeat for as long as the range holds.

How it works

  1. 01You pick a lower band and an upper band, in dollars.
  2. 02The loop buys when the price reaches the lower band.
  3. 03It sells when the price reaches the upper band.
  4. 04Everything in between is ignored. It repeats until you stop it.

No percentages — you set two hard dollar prices. The loop buys at the lower band, sells at the upper band, and keeps cycling between them until you stop it. Everything inside the range is ignored; only the bands matter.

The math, on paper

Buy $100 at the $95 band
≈ 1.053 coin
Sell at the $105 band
$110.53 back
Gross profit per full swing
+$10.53
Modeled round-trip fees (0.02%/side)
≈ $0.04
Modeled net profit
≈ +$10.48

Worked numbers assume 0.02% per side (the current Binance.US fallback schedule) and exclude spread and slippage. They are illustrations, not forecasts; fees vary by exchange and tier.

Best for

Coins with support and resistance levels you have actually identified — not a hunch.

When it struggles

You are betting the range holds. A break below leaves you holding a losing buy; a break above leaves you watching from the sidelines. Either way, stop the loop and re-think the bands.

Good to know

The widest spread of any strategy here — fewer trades, but each one earns the full distance between the bands.

Questions

What is range trading in crypto?

Range trading buys near a price floor (support) and sells near a ceiling (resistance) while a coin moves sideways between them. A Range Loop automates exactly that with two fixed dollar prices.

What happens when the price breaks out of the range?

The bands do not move. Below the range the loop holds what it bought and waits for the upper band; above it, it has sold and waits for the lower band. If the range has clearly broken, stop the loop and set new bands.
